Higher Purpose

 We are a team dedicated to uplifting society through health and local business. We are here to promote sustainable jobs and sustainable lifestyles.  Belladi Kitchen is a partnership with House Kombucha and Yemen Farm Project. 5% of proceeds from the kitchen are donated to building irrigation for subsistence farmers in Yemen to increase self reliance for the people of Yemen.

Hani Desouky

Hani Desouky: Chef Desouky grew up in his mother’s Egyptian catering business and has had a lifelong career in top kitchens like Boulevard and Bon Appetit. DeSouky led the food program at People’s Cafe in Berkeley where he featured a plant-based healing foods menu. Belladi Kitchen is culmination of his expertise bringing Arabic traditions into a California fresh menu.

Anson Abdulla

 Founder Yemen Farm Project owner/CEO Belladi Kitchen, Golden Egg Distribution and Peoples Cafe: Abdulla comes from an ancient lineage of farmers in Yemen and continues to serve his family legacy and land through Belladi and as an agricultural agent and distributor for local eggs here in Oakland.  He is committed to stewarding the land and communities in Yemen to prosper and evolve with the modern times.

Rana Chang

Rana Chang, Founder House Kombucha. Chang is the owner/founder of House Kombucha, a 13+ year strong Bay Area kombucha brand. House Kombucha is a women minority owned and operated business that crafts delicious organic kombucha. She connected with the team at People’s Cafe to create her first kombucha taproom and passionate about promoting zero-waste practices and fun sober drinks through Belladi Kitchen.
